Kansonar

The international tournament «Kansonar» has been held since 2010 in memory of the renowned eagle hunter Mäsip Batyrkhanuly. The event preserves and promotes the ancient Kazakh hunting traditions that involve the use of birds of prey – especially the golden eagle – skills that have been passed down from generation to generation.
Visitors can look forward to spectacular demonstration performances by master «kusbegi» – traditional Kazakh falconers – alongside mass sporting competitions, workshops, and meetings with experts in eagle hunting. A particular highlight of the event is the display of the birds’ remarkable skills and their close interaction with the hunters, capturing the spirit of ancient Kazakh traditions.
