On 29 August 2026, the city of Aktau will host SHUBAT FEST 2026, Kazakhstan’s first national festival dedicated to shubat and camel milk products.
The festival aims to promote shubat as a national gastronomic brand, support local producers, encourage the consumption of traditional dairy products, and showcase Kazakhstan’s camel farming heritage.
The highlight of the festival will be the Best Shubat of Kazakhstan competition. Winners will be selected based on a combination of public voting, professional jury evaluation, and independent laboratory testing to ensure an objective assessment of product quality and safety. Additional awards will recognise the best camel milk products, including qurt, balqaimaq, desserts, ice cream, coffee, and cocktails.
The festival will bring together farmers, agricultural producers, and camel milk processors from across Kazakhstan. Cash prizes will be awarded to the winners, while the Grand Prix winner will receive a car.
